Holocaust

The Term Holocaust means an act of mass destruction and loss of life. An example of Holocaust is when the mass murder of Jews under the German Nazi rule from 1941 until 1945. The Auschwitz concentration camp complex was the largest of its kind during the German Nazi rule. It included three main camps, all of which deployed incarcerated prisoners at forced labor. The SS authorities continuously deployed prisoners at forced labor to expand the physical contours of the camp. The Holocaust in Auschwitz was a horrible mass destruction of Jews. Innocent people were beaten, burned alive, hung, or shot for just being a Jew.

The Author

Elie Wielsel was born in 1928 in Sighet, Transylvania, which is now part of Romania. He was fifteen years old when he and his family were deported by the Nazis to Auschwitz. Wiesel went through tremendious agony and horror at an early age, the Nazis offenders took the lives of many of his family members and friends. He is still alive and filled with the memories of the tragedy. The novel Night is a look into the life of Elie Wiesel, the readers get to expirience to a smaller magnitude, what he felt and went through at the hands of the Nazis. I believe Mr. Wiesel wrote his novel so people would never forget the Holocaust. People will always remember the struggle that the Nazis put the Jewish people through.

The symbol of darkness in Night
Elie’s struggle with his faith is a dominant conflict in Night. At the beginning of the work, his faith in God is absolute. When asked why he prays to God, he answers, “Why did I pray? . . . Why did I live? Why did I breathe?” His belief in an omnipotent, benevolent God is unconditional, and he cannot imagine living without faith in a divine power. But this faith is shaken by his experience during the Holocaust. The symbol of darkness is that Elie wants to believe in God but he doesn’t know how because If God was there why was he letting his people suffer and go through a horrible time. The darkness in this picture shows that Elie is wanting to believe in God and the white spot in this picture is showing God reaching out to him.

1920's

Living in the 1920s would obviously be a lot different from living in the present day. I can't say that I would rather live in the 1920s because I am happy living the way I am now.
Here in the present day we have so much technology that we use every single day and without it life would be much more difficult. Also, I believe that we have come to a point in our society where racism is nearly diminished. Unfortunately, back then that wasn't the case and things were much different. Hopefully someday racism will be completely evaporated.
I also like living now because I have such a wide variety of music to listen to and in the 1920s a lot of the music that I love would not have been around for years to come.

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Spring is the time of awakening and a new life. When spring comes around every year, flowers burst with bright colors, trees are blooming with brand new leaves and everything is alive again. One of the disadvantages to spring is the pollen on the cars, houses, and everything that is outside. To me, I love the weather during spring but I hate the allergies it causes me to have.
On the nature walks during school, we all notice the trees' mostly changing colors. On the top of the tress they turn gold and now all of the leaves are coming back. Soon the leaves will change to yellow, red and many other beautiful colors.
Spring time is one of my most favorite seasons even though my allergies might disagree. I love the beautiful colors and the warm air that comes along with spring.

St. Patrick's Day Blog # 1

St. Patrick's Day is a yearly holiday celebrated on March the 17th. It is named after Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the parton saints of Ireland. It began as a purely Catholic holiday and became an official feast day in the early 1600s. However, it has gradually become more of a secular celebration of Ireland's culture.
Today we were green and if you don't wear the color you will get pinched.

Civil War

A Civil War can be a fight between two best friends like: Sarah and Amber. Sarah and Amber were best friends. They did everything together and never could be apart from each other until Sarah did something that no friend should ever do. Take her best friends boyfriend. When Amber found out, her face turned a very red color, like a tomato, and she just froze up. She looked at Sarah and could not believe her. She didn't know what to say or even do but just stare at the face of a so-called best friend.Needless to say, Sarah was not the prettiest girl anymore in Amber's eyes. Sarah looked at her angry best friend. She had never seen Amber this mad before. Amber's eyes turned from a beautiful tropical forest color to a solid grey like a stormy sea. Sarah also stood there dumbfounded and confused. She did not know what to say or do so she just stood and stared at the lifeless, pale skinned, tomato colored face, best friend.

The Crucible Review

"I belive that the reader will discover here the essential nature of one of the stongest and most awful chapters in human history," Arthur Miller wrote of his classic play about the witch-hunts and trials in seveteenth century Salem, Massachusetts. When a young girl accuses Elizabeth Proctor of being a witch, self-righteous church leadres and townspeople insist thatElizabeth be brought to trial.

I enjoyed this book. If you like books that dramatic and romatic then you will enjoy this book.

Bullying

Have you ever been bullied. Well many people do. I see a ton of people in High School or in any school where they get picked on. There is a different types of bullying. The main type of bullying is someone beating up someone or other people talking bad about someone else and making fun of them. I see kids in school who talk bad about someone else or saying they hate them or telling them they want to beat them up. Bullying is in society or in public schools.
